Fiona Pompey paints the desert country around Fregon on the *APY Lands.. She captures the vibrancy and colour of the desert landscape; the flat plains dotted with wild flowers and spinifex grass, rocky outcrops and its vast sandhills. Sandhills or ‘tali’ imagery is closely connected with Pompey’s mother, Tali Tali Pompey.

Fiona Pompey is from Fregon on the *APY Lands. She works from the Kaltjiti Arts Centre and is the daughter of well known artist, Kunamara (Tali Tali) Pompey.

*Anangu Pitjantjatjara/ Yankunytjatjara Lands, far north west of South Australia.

About Fiona Pompey

Fiona Pompey is from Fregon on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara/ Yankunytjatjara Lands, 350km SE of ULURU. Fiona works from the Kaltjiti Arts Centre. A strong individualistic style is reflected in her colour choices and imagery. She has recently begun exhibiting in the art centre group exhibitions. Fiona has lived in Fregon all her life. She went to the local school and is the daughter of well known artist, Kunamara (Tali Tali) Pompey.
