    About this artwork

Yakari has painted her country in Kiwikurra. This is where she used to collect Kamperapra (a kind of berry) and other bushtucker. This area was an important site for her people because there were rockholes which were the only sources of food and water during days of walking in hot sandhill country. The site is called ‘Ngumi’.
