    About Maryanne Mungatopi

    Maryanne Mungatopi was a much-loved and respected member of Jilamara Arts & Crafts and the Milikapiti community. Maryanne exhibited in group exhibitions with Jilamara between 1995 – 2002 and was known for her Tutuni poles and paintings of Purukapali, Way-ai and Jinani (from the Tiwi Creation story). Her major commissions include; a Pukumani pole to private collector Thomas Vroom, Netherlands (1996) & Equestrian Event Works on Site at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Her work is held in collections across Australia and overseas, including; Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (VIC), National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria & The British Museum (England). Maryanne passed away in 2003.
