New work from the Secondary Market

This month we feature some of the best artists from the Kimberley.

The first is a beautiful painting by Wakartu Cory Surprise painted in 2008. This painting was part of Surprise's entry in in the 2010 Western Australian Indigenous Art Awards held at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Surprise was the winner that year of the Best Painting award and the prize of $50,000.

The second is a fabulous work by Jukuja Dolly Snell, painted in 2013. Snell won the award for the best painting in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Art Awards in 2015.

We also have two works by two very well known and influential artists from Balgo, the husband and wife team Helicopter Tjungurrayi and Lucy Yukenbarri Napanangka. These are large paintings at 150 x 100 cm.

To round off our offering for this month we travel to the Tiwi Islands and Tiwi Design Art centre to see two lovely works on paper by one of the stars of Tiwi Art, Jean Baptiste Apuatimi. These are unframed, easy to freight and are great examples of the artists work.
