Myra Yurtiwa Cook (c1932-2015)

Warakurna Artists
Myra was born at Kartjinguku Creek near Warakurna in the East Gibson Desert in 1932. Myra began painting with Warakurna Artists in 2005 and has become one of its senior emerging artists. She paints important Ngaanyatjarra stories from her mothers and fathers country. The area dwelt by the Ngaanyatjarra people has a record of human habitation going back some 10,000 years.
