Theresa Nowee (1971-2017)
Nowee came from a strong painting family and she painted her father Brandy Tjungurrayi’s country which is located around Jupiter Well, a traditional water hole in the region of Kiwirrkurra Community in the Northern Territory. Her aunt and uncles were Elizabeth Nyumi, Patrick Olodoodi and Helicopter Tjungurrayi She began painting in 2001 and in later years developed a distinct painting style of layers of fine dots. During her final months she lived (and painted) in Alice Springs.
