About this artwork
Elizabeth has painted country just south of Balgo named Tjumundora. This country is full of waterholes and creeks and surrounded by escarpment country. Elizabeth used to camp here as a young girl with her family. The black U shapes represent the women of the skin; Nungurrayi, Nampitjin, Nangala and Nakamarra telling stories.

Born around 1954, Elizabeth Gordon is the daughter of two major artists from Balgo, Ningie Nangala and Tjumpo Tjapanangka.
